Doutorado em História pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, com a tese População e Guerra – os impactos das Invasões Francesas no Porto (1807-1809). exerce funções docentes como Professor Adjunto do Departamento de Ciências Sociais da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Bragança, onde tem lecionado nas áreas de história, pensamento político e reações internacionais.
