Bacharel em História pela PUC-SP (1988); Licenciado em História pela PUC-SP (1989); Mestre em Sociologia pela UNICAMP (1993) e Doutor em História Social pela USP (2000). Possui Pós-Doutorado em Demografia pelo Núcleo de Estudos de População -NEPO-UNICAMP (2010). Atualmente é Professor do Departamento de História e do Programa de Pós-graduação em História da Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP). Pesquisador do Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar Cultura Espaço e Memória (CITCEM) das Universidades do Porto e da Universidade do Minho (Portugal) desde 2015; Líder do Grupo de Pesquisa História, Memória, Educação e Patrimônio Cultural; Faz parte do Conselho do Patrimônio Histórico do Município de Guarulhos desde 2014. Desde 2007 é membro do Conselho Editorial da “Travessia Revista do Migrante”; faz parte do Conselho Editorial das Revistas: Baleia na Rede e Aurora (UNESP – Campus de Marília) e Hydra (UNIFESP – Campus de Guarulhos). Entre 2008 e 2010 foi Conselheiro junto ao CONDEPHAAT, retornou ao Conselho no biênio 2021-2023. Orienta e pesquisa nas seguintes áreas: migrações, patrimônio cultural e museus

B.A. in History from PUC-SP (1988); B.A. in History from PUC-SP (1989); M.A. in Sociology from UNICAMP (1993) and Ph.D. in Social History from USP (2000). He has a Post-Doctorate in Demography from the Center for Population Studies – NEPO-UNICAMP (2010). He is currently a Professor in the Department of History and in the Graduate Program in History at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). Researcher at the Center for Transdisciplinary Research Culture Space and Memory (CITCEM) of the Universities of Porto and the University of Minho (Portugal) since 2015; Leader of the Research Group History, Memory, Education and Cultural Heritage; Member of the Historical Heritage Council of the Municipality of Guarulhos since 2014. Since 2007 he is a member of the Editorial Board of “Travessia Revista do Migrante”; he is part of the Editorial Board of the journals: Baleia na Rede and Aurora (UNESP – Marília Campus) and Hydra (UNIFESP – Guarulhos Campus).
