Joana Lencart is PhD in History (2018) at the University of Porto with a thesis on the archives of Templars and the Order of Christ. Researcher at CITCEM/FLUP. She has integrated several national and international projects and collaborated as author and co-author of several books and papers on Military Orders and archives with international impact. As main research topics she has privileged Military Orders, namely Templars and the Order of Christ; Medieval History; custodial history; and cartularies. Member of the Society for the Study of the Crusade and the Latin East, and the Sociedad Española de Estudios Medievales (SEEM).
